Virgin Hair

  • Virgin Hair is hair that has been processed (Steamed).
  • It is steam processed to achieve the known textures that everyone loves (Deep Curly, Kinky Curly and Body Wavy).
  • Steam process makes the hair shinier and silkier.
  • Though the hair has not been chemically processed, the steam process alters the hair from its natural state, which is why the hair is no longer considered “Raw”.
  • The longevity of this hair depends on the quality, some can last months and some up to 2 years depending on maintenance.
  • Virgin hair comes in a variety of textures and origins.

Raw Hair

  • Hair that is 100% pure and unprocessed.
  • Typically coarser than Virgin hair (because it is not steamed).
  • With the hair being unprocessed, there are not a lot of textures to choose from; the main textures available are straight, natural wavy and rarely a curly pattern.
  • The extensions are usually thick from weft to ends
  • Raw hair requires extra maintenance, it needs more moisturizing and conditioning to maintain its luster.
  • The longevity of the hair can last at a minimum of 3 years.
  • Raw hair is more expensive because longevity and quality is better.
